Blog Post: Toad Extension for Eclipse 2.2.4 is now GA - Check out the new MongoDB data browser interface!

Toad Extension for Eclipse 2.2.4 is now available.  This is the release with the MongoDB data browser!  Follow these steps to upgrade, and then follow the link at the end to set up MongoDB and browse your own data.  Its quick and easy! NOTE:  Oh, you don’t have Toad Extension for Eclipse yet?  No worries, here is a previous blog post describing config and setup on Windows and Mac . First, launch Eclipse and select Help | Install New Software: Add this site URL to the Work with: field:  http://community-downloads.quest.com/toadsoft/toadextensions/eclipse/freeware/ and then Click Add… Now add a name (be creative) and click OK Select All and then Next: Review all items and click Next: Almost there, accept the license terms and then ‘Finish’ Restart Eclipse by clicking Yes: In the Welcome screen, click the Toad button on the left hand side to display the Toad Workspace Now drop down the new connection button and select MongoDB: Configure your connection and test, Success!  NOTE If you don’t have MongoDB yet, this blog post will explain how to download install and configure your own MongoDB installation. And here’s the payoff.  In this example I’m showing all of the cities in Massachusetts that exist that have a population of greater than 10000: Looking forward to your feedback, hope you like it.  Also, to better familiarize yourself with the Toad Extension for Eclipse UI, here is a blog post describing how one might browse data in MongoDB using other tools or command line and then finally, how the Toad MongoDB data browser is easier to use!
