I can't get TOAD extension to create to a database? I just installed TOAD Extension because my jobs functions have recently changed, and I will be spending most of my time from now on in Eclipse. As the DBA I have previously set up several versions and copies of TOAD Developer Suite, and DBA Suite before. However I can not figure out how to get the Eclipse plugin to connect to a database. I have tried under TOAD Extension|Connect option for the project itself. And get told that my default connections was not found in my existing database connections. I've added the ojdbc5.jar driver under Window|Preferences|Toad Extension|Oracle Database. I did have to download a new version of the jar file to get it to be retained in the field when I rebooted, because I have an older client on my computer. The version that I downloaded is for 11.2.0.2 which is our current database version. And we are on Java 6, so I'm assuming that this is the right file. I've also Set the default database platform to "Oracle Database" When that didn't work, I went into Preferences|Data Management, and added the driver again, as Other Oracle, and configured it with the parameters to access one of our databases and users. I still do get a Name or Database to show up in the drop down boxes at the top of the editor tab, and still get the popup about default connection not found in existing connections when I try to go in and set properties on the project itself. It shouldn't be this hard. I did see another thread where the user asked how to keep the plugin from reading his tnsnames.ora file. I would like to know where I go to tell it how to find mine. As I've said I've never had this problem when I've set up one of the full versions of TOAD. TIA for any help I may be given.
