Well, Coming from an Oracle background, if you said to me that you have a development tool which by default disables all public synonyms unless you happen to know to unclick an unrelated option . Well, I'd probably move on and look for some other tool. :) I mean I guess I don't see the advantage of or sense behind the existing "feature" of ignoring the database search_path. How would this be helpful or desirable? So as I don't understand why anyone would want this feature in the first place I suspect I am missing something. The fact that I am the only person to ever complain would seem to also argue its a misunderstanding on my part. As I said I mainly work in Oracle. Cheers and thanks for the feedback, Paul
